The Central Mass Striders are once again the US National Mountain Running Champions.  The Open team consisting of Matt Russell, Pete Maksimow, Jim Johnson, Ben Nephew, and Andy McCarron placed first overall at the 2010 Mount Washington Road Race (results) up in NH over the weekend, giving CMS it's 4th US National Mountain Running title in the last 7 years (only 6 of those years had US Championships).

Mount Washington - CMS Top Times - Sub 1:10

As the Mount Washington Road Race Lottery opens (March 1-15) on one week, I put together an interesting list of All Time CMS times under 1:10.  A CMS member has broken 1:10 every year since 1991.

Note: This does not reflect CMS members that ran sub 1:10 times as members of other clubs of course (like Peterson, Dunham, Hodge with GLRR, Blake with BAA, etc.).  It is only sub 1:10 times as members of CMS.  This also doesn't include any times from 2002, as the race was only to half-way.

Stats:
- 1:10 has been broken 84 times by a CMS runner
- 21 CMS Men have broken 1:10
- 13 CMS men have done it more than once
- Most: Morse has done it 15 times, Dunham 13 (with CMS)
- Youngest:  Tilton (22)
- Oldest:  Dunham (45)
- Best Place: 1st (Dunham, Fram)
- Worst Place:  31st (Dunham)
- Wins:  2 (Dunham, Fram)

The 'Where's Eric Report' for Late May...

Has anyone seen this man? With one mountain race in the books and one this weekend (both CR's owned by this guy) we're beginning to wonder when he'll pop up again before Mt. Washington...

Early indications (judging from this past weekend's cherrypicking clinic) point to a well deserved return to form, as the elusive Eric Morse couldn't stay completely off the radar, when news of his 15:38 at the 5th Annual WCA Black Fly Blitz 5k in Wilmot, NH hit the Coolrunning wires yesterday.

15:38 would be welcomed with open arms at Rhody in a couple weeks... Will he make the trip down?  We hope so....
