The CMS men’s open team placed second overall at the GBTC XC
Invite in Carlisle, MA. The open team placed 3 men in the top 11 overall in the
first of five Cross Country Grand Prix Races for USATF New England. Scott
Mindel, 2nd overall, was the first CMS runner to cross the line for
the 5K distance. DJ Raboin and Jack Delehanty were five seconds apart finishing
9th and 11th. Dave Brooks just missed breaking 17 flat in 22nd
place. Arthur Besse, doubled up, racing in the open race following his masters
race running around 18:05 (official results pending). Bryan Trinque broke six
minute mile pace to finish 46th overall in his first cross country
race in many years.
Tim Van Orden and Arthur Besse placed 3rd and 4th
in the masters 5K race. Tim had the lead until the last half mile. He would
finish just eight seconds behind TJ Unger who took the win. Dan Verrington
placed 18th overall.
