CMS starts off strong at the New Bedford Half Marathon

It was a solid day for the Central Mass Striders Men’s teams in the usually competitive Grand Prix event at the New Bedford Half Marathon. The weather was decent with the usual heavy winds at bay on Sunday. The NBHM was the first of seven races within the 2019 USATF New England Grand Prix Road Race Series.

Summary: open team 5^th, masters team 1^st, and seniors 2^nd after breaking a tie with Whirlaway (CMS’s 5^th scoring runner, Dave Dunham, was faster than Whirlaway’s 5^th scoring runner). Every second counts.

Big PR’s were had by Bryan Trinque, Kevin Hankens, Arthur Besse, Nick Taormina, David Principe (also NEGP 50+ overall Champion!)

Scoring Individual GP points within the age groups were: Dan Vassallo, Scott Mindel, Kevin Hankens, Patrick Rich, Alan Bernier, Arthur Besse, Nick Taormina, David Principe, David Lapierre, & Stephen Drouin

Teams will regroup for the 2nd GP Championship, Frank Nealon Boston Tune-Up 15 on March 30^th.
